About Nikki

Managing Director

I fell in love with the early childhood profession at a young age and have been a teacher, director and manager for 14 years. I completed by Diploma in Early Childhood Education, and then went on to complete my Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to Five years). Working for Handprints is more than a job for me, it’s a passion. I enjoy working with our directors to implement quality practices and engagement for our families and children, as well as ensuring meaningful experiences for our educators too.

Nikki’s ACHIEVEMENTS

Through my work at Handprints I have had the opportunity to connect with other early childhood professionals and share our message. I created and delivered a poster presentation at the Early Childhood Australia conference in 2019. This presentation shared our innovation within compliance and the implementation the Handprints calendar. I presented at the Infants and Toddlers conference in 2019 with Julia. In this presentation, we reflected upon the implementation of our kindness program and how we as Handprints educators, use language to role model positive behaviours for children and enhance their understanding of patience and acceptance.

In 2018, I began the process of setting up Handprints Turramurra. From choosing the site, to submitting the DA, to resourcing, staffing and finally opening the centre, this was a rewarding experience through and through. It gave me insight into how the design of a space can actually change the modes of play that children engage in while in the space.

I consider continuity and enjoyment two main themes that children need to succeed, and I believe that relationships are at the core of everything we do. I value the experiences of all children and their families and believe that it is the differences between us all, that makes our community special and unique.
