Handprints Early Learning Centre rated EXCEEDING from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority .
In January 2020, our St Ives service received a rating of EXCEEDING from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority in all seven areas! This amazing result means that our team goes above and beyond the requirements of the National Quality Standard, in all seven areas of assessment including educational program and practice, children’s health and safety and collaborative partnerships with families and communities.
“Before enrolling my child in Handprints I loved reading about your wonderful work and now experiencing it is even better!”
our philosophy
A Reggio Emilia inspired School offers an open-minded, exploratory method of early-childhood learning that encourages diversity, flexibility and relationship-building. Geared towards student-directed activities and play, children learn through experience: touching, tasting, smelling; using all of their senses to communicate and absorb the wonders of their quickly expanding worlds.
Meet the team
We have a highly experienced and passionate team
“Thea is constantly in a state of ‘wonder’. She finds everything exciting. This can be seen through dressing up in costumes, Book Week, cultural experiences, learning about various days/holidays or simply discussing what people have done over the weekend. Thea loves to find out about other people and likes to tell us when she has eaten different foods - especially when she has made them!”

Bio
I'm an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist, with a strong belief in practical, sustainable nutrition for all ages. I think the opportunity to nourish growing minds and bodies is incredibly important to seize, giving children the best possible foundation for a healthy future. Early childhood is an incredible time of growth and development, where a child's needs, preferences and independence are all important to consider and encourage.
I chose to become a dietitian following my own struggles with food intolerance and a Coeliac Disease diagnosis, so I also understand how overwhelming it can feel to provide nutritionally appropriate substitutes.
In private practice, I work with families and children on fussy eating, general nutrition for children, growth concerns, constipation, and management of nutrient deficiencies or concurrent health conditions. Personally, I have 8 nieces and nephews, so I have lots of first-hand experience with managing these concerns in a realistic manner.
I'm incredibly excited to have joined the Handprints team and such a supportive, caring community.
